What to Expect
The hike takes approximately 1.5–2 hours to reach the summit (around 700m elevation gain). The trail is steep in sections but manageable for most people with moderate fitness. You’ll start in darkness with headlamps and arrive at the summit just in time for sunrise. After breakfast on the crater rim, you’ll descend and return to your hotel.

The hike is rated challenging. It involves steep sections over loose volcanic sand and rock. Most people with moderate fitness complete it without issues. Trekking poles are provided.

Light rain is common and the hike usually continues. In heavy rain or lightning, tours may be postponed for safety. You will be given the option to reschedule at no charge.

Yes, guides are required by the Kintamani national park authority. All our guides are licensed and experienced local trekking guides.

Sunrise views depend on weather and cloud cover. Clear days in the dry season (Mayu2013October) offer the best conditions. Even on partially cloudy days, the experience is magical.
