Yes, especially at Tukad Cepung where the canyon walk involves wading through a shallow stream. We strongly recommend bringing water shoes and a change of clothes. Waterproof bags for electronics are also a good idea.

How difficult are the waterfall walks?expand_more

Goa Raja involves a steep downhill path (about 15 minutes). Tukad Cepung requires walking through a rocky stream canyon. Both are manageable for most people in reasonable fitness u2014 not suitable for wheelchairs or those with severe mobility issues.

Is Penglipuran Village crowded?expand_more

We time our visit in the afternoon when crowds are lighter. The village is most photogenic in the golden hour light. Early mornings and late afternoons are the best times.

Can I swim at the waterfalls?expand_more

Swimming is permitted at Goa Raja Waterfall. Tukad Cepung is a canyon walk u2014 the water is shallow and suitable for wading but not full swimming.

Tukad Cepung waterfall with the light beams was magical, exactly like the photos online. Penglipuran Village was a lovely bonus stop.
